My Diamond Back Boys

Conner is playing senior minors this year. When he found out he made the Diamondback team he was so excited. His team has stuggled to win a game. Before today they were 0 and 7 (that means they have lost 7 games). Every game they have improved and tried hard to win. We keep telling him winning isn't everything, but in a 9 year olds eyes winning is everything. Conner loves to play first base or pitch. Today he played first base, third base, and pitcher. Today his team got out there and played hard. Fourth inning they were up 12 to 5. Life was good and lots of smiles. All of a sudden our second pitcher began to struggle. Because we were so ahead the coaches let a boy who has wanted to try out catcher do that. Needless to say between having pitching problems and a unexperienced catcher the score became 12 to 11 very quickly. It was time to change pitcher's so who do they put in, CONNER. To put even more pressure on Conner there was a boy on third and second base ready to steal home as soon as the catcher missed a ball. Conner got up on the mound and BAM he struck out the last 2 batters to win the game. I was so proud of him. After such a fabulous game Conner received the GAME BALL. Cole, Conner's biggest fan, had to hold his new baseball. Cole loves to go to Conner's games. Conner was so sad his Dad wasn't there today to see his great game. We were also sad Oma & Papa left early (to go to Crew's soccer game - when they left the score was 12-5) they missed all the excitement. I love my DIAMONDBACK boys!!!
