A rare night with dad home...

Normally Saturday night is date night. Today Conner, Lindsey and Erik went to the Diamondback game and by the time they got home Cole and Carly needed some dad time. We opted to stay home... I made chicken alfredo fettuccine for dinner and we hung out with the kids. Erik wanted the kids to crack him. They say he is too hard to crack.
Cole found Conner's new D-backs hat and thought he was SO cool! Dad needed kisses from Cole. I wish Cole would give me more of those sweet kisses!! Oh, and you to Erik!
Lindsey nice picture! Fun times - I love my family!!!

Little League Day at Chase Field

Conner, Lindsey and Erik went to the Diamondback game today. It was Little League day. D-back were playing the New York Mets we won 10-4. Good job D-backs!
Conner plays for the Diamondbacks. How cool is that?
The boys got to walk on the field.
We were suprised Lindsey wanted to go. It was a fun bonding activity. The kids love to go place with Erik because he is a softy and let's them get lots of goodies. Even if being out with dad means him embarrassing Lindsey. It wouldn't be fun without his fun sense of humor. FREE stuff - today Conner scored he got a baseball, hat, and picture frame all FREE! Go D-backs!

Conner happy to have his life long friend Jordan come to his baseball game.

Conner and Jordan Jacob have known each other since they were one. I use to babysit Jordan. He and Conner from day one hit it off. What is so crazy is they play baseball on different leagues, but play the same positions (pitcher and first base). Easton, Jordan's little brother also plays first base. After the game we grabbed Burger King and went back to their house and hung out. It was fun to see them and catch up. Thanks for coming to the game!

Serving in Cub Scouts

Two years ago April I received my first call into Cub Scouts. I was SO suprised! Connner wasn't even in scouts yet. I was asked to help in Webelos (10 year old boys). It was a great opportunity for me. The first month of serving I realized Conner was normal. Conner being our first boy I didn't know if his behavior was normal or not. I now know he is totally normal. These young boys & my partner, Cherie Lane, have taught me to role with the punches and to relax a little more. Most importantly to love the boys for who they are and to do my best to teach them gospel principles. Cherie has moved and I have received a new call - Cub Committee Chairman. I went to roundtable Thursday night and the last 30 minutes we break out into stakes. The Stake Primary counselor over cubs had us share our testimonies of cub scouting. There was about 10 of us in the room. It was an amazing experience! The spirit was so strong. To hear peoples experiences and how these young boys and this program has touched their lives. I was a little nervous of what I wanted to share. I ended up sharing how scouts has helped me be a better mom with my boys. Realizing they are normal and they think and do things differently than I do, but it is okay. I love serving the Lord. I feel really blessed right now I get to serve in cub scouts with Conner and in Young Women's with Lindsey as camp director!

Carly's helping hand

I had a tender moment this morning. Our neighbor just had their second child. Needless to say they aren't getting much sleep & life has no order. We have started taking their daughter to school to take one stress out of their lives. She is Carly's age and has autism. I am so proud of Carly. She has taken full responsiblilty of getting our neighbor to her teacher when I drop them off (kindergarteners). She is so patient and loving. Carly loves to help!

Please Dad can we get a trampoline?

The kids and I have been bugging Erik to get a trampoline! He is SO worried someone is going to get hurt. I told him I grew up with one and no one ever got hurt. He remembers a few years back when Byron broke is leg really bad on theirs. We FINALLY talked him into it. Mothers my kids have played on it so much. It has been a great bonding tool. I am sure the exercise they get is GREAT for them. I have even taught them how to do bum wars and some silly tricks I did as a kiddo. We love it! Cole tries to talk anyone he can into jumping with him. He is not afraid to jump with the big kids either. He loves it. He will go out there for long periods of time all by himself.
Lindsey is a good sport!

Marcus "EAGLE scout"

This month Marcus, our nephew, earned his Eagle scout award. We are so proud of him. Liesl and Richard were Marcus' biggest supporters.I am so grateful for good cousins that set great examples for my kids. Byron has already earned his eagle and now Marcus! Way to go guys! Conner looks up to you. I love you and am glad you are making such great decisions in your life.
It was so funny we got there sat down and noticed we were all wearing WHITE shirts. Sorry Nana,Liesl, Sheridan, and Shelene you didn't get the memo!
Fun times! I love making memories with family!
