Pomegranates
Pomegranates = a yummy treat! Oma brought us all back some from Thatcher. They other day she call me and said come by I have a bowl of pomegranates for you (thanks mom for taking them out of the shell for me)! We have great memories of Grannie and Grandpa Dowdles pomegranate trees. When it was time to pick them all the Aunts and Grannie would make pomegranate jelly, yummy. Grannie would even make homemade bread to put it on, delicious (I am now craving it). Fun memories!

Cole home sick!
Friday, Oct. 23 Cole didn't quite make it to school. He threw-up several times in the car on the way to school. We obviously cleaned him up the best we could turned around and came home. He didn't have a fever (diarrhea came), but other than that he played like normal and asked to eat like normal. About every 4-5 hours he would puck and then be fine again lasted 24 hours and it was over, thank goodness! He spent a good part of the morning playing play dough. He loves it...he will even get it out on his own and play all by himself (finally). He loves to get out his animals and make paw prints.

Megan a-n-d Kaelen
Cousins are so much fun...Megan and Kaelen Lavold came to spend the night with us. Erik's Aunt Emogene passed away and the funeral was in Snowflake, Arizona on Friday Oct. 16. Erik couldn't get the time off, so we weren't going to be able to go. We thought what could we do to help someone else go? Tina (Erik's sister) wanted to go super bad and was hoping to go with us. When we couldn't go we volunteered to keep some of Liz's kiddos (Erik's other sister), so they would have room for Tina.
Carly was in hog heaven to have some of her cousins come and play. They had such a good time. The Lavold girls even brought some wood crafts to paint...fun! We rode bikes and scooters to the park, ordered PIZZA, watched a movie, ate popcorn and candy (shhhh don't tell their mom), and played a fun scavenger hunt game. Carly was so happy to have them over (they did crafts at 6:30am)! Wants to know when she can have cousins over again?!

Fire???
Every year as the weather cools off and we start to open our windows welcoming FALL our darn fire alarms go off! One starts and within seconds all 12 are going off. Waking the dead (Erik) as he had just fallen off to sleep and scaring Cole to tears. What a horrific sound. Off to Wal-mart I go to spend $10 a pack buying batteries, ouch! Erik swears by Energizer by the way (he has proven they last twice as long in his pump he wears). Awe...good for another YEAR!

5th day to 10th day of Fall Break
We played all of break...with the exception of a few sick kids (Conner/Cole). The weather was gorgeous we rode bikes, went to parks, jumped on the trampoline, played with friends, took Marley on walks, had cousins over and had a lot of late nights. Lindsey, Conner and Erik hit a Queen Creek High football game. Not sure I would count this as fun, but we all went to the dentist. We caught up on some good movies and enjoyed being together! I love my family! Kids back in school and mom trying to catch up on some projects and putting the house back together. Oh and Cole is sick again throwing up, ugh!
Fall Break...5th Day
Cole's preschool LIFE had a field trip to Schneif Farms. Adults $5 and children $6 what a smoken deal Carly, Cole and I had a great time.
Carousel rides...fun!

Second Day of Fall Break
10:00-11:00 piano lessons
While kiddos were in piano Erik, Cole and I ran to Wal-mart to buy a few groceries.

Lunch- Taco Bell (no drinks, mom being super cheap)
1:00-6:00 Lopez girls came to play
(Boy did we play, outside the whole afternoon. Bike riding, house making -under the trampoline, umbrellas out, chalk, scooters, lots of walking Marley, I gave bike rides around and around the cul-de-sac, and ended the night with a pizza picnic dinner. What a fun day! The weather was great and the company GREAT! Kylee started out really nervous about Marley, but ended up loving him and wanted lots to do with him. She was great at giving him toys and taking him for several walks.Lindsey, what can I say you are such a "beast," she loves to call herself that. She hung with us all day. It was fun to have her around. The excitement of the day was Erik's car had to be towed. It broke down and he tried to fix it, but no luck. Luckily it wasn't to bad of a bill, it is now running and good to go!
The kids were totally amazed at how the man got the car on his truck!
Thank heavens Gramers and Papa have a few extra cars, so we were able to borrow one until Erik's car ran again. Thanks so much!
6:45-9:00 Off to the church
Lindsey went to mutual and I worked on September's Visiting Teaching report in the clerks office.
9:00 All kids in bed and mom right behind them.

We hung out lots and all made a trip to the $1 movies (split up seeing 3 different movies, Hannah Montana, Night of the Museum 2 and Monsters vs. Aliens). We ladies ran away one night and saw The Proposal. Come again soon we all miss you.

The bEsT home teachers!
In the 16 years we have been married we have never had consistent home teachers. A little over a year ago Jim and Julie Larson were assigned to home teach us. They have been amazing! They have truly become a part of our family. They have come each month to give us a message and see how each one of us are doing along with checking on us weekly. They surprised us on our birthdays, showed up to ball games, made special visits when injuries happened, sat with us at church, gave blessings, called us out of the blue, and much much more! With our ward split they are no longer in our ward. We are so sad and miss them terribly. We have truly been blessed to have them in our lives. They have taught us many things and more than anything they have loved our family in ways we can not express. We have truly been watched over...now it is our turn to be like them they have been wonderful examples. I am sure the Lord is beyond pleased with the service they have given our family. We will never forget Bro. & Sis. Larson and the love they have given our family!

A blonde moment...
I got an invitation to my dear friend, Leslie Hodgson's wedding reception. I have been so excited to go and see her and all my old Ray 1st ward friends. Yesterday was a crazy busy day, but everything went pretty smoothly. I was pretty tired and thought I don't want to drive 45 minutes to an hour to get to the reception, but I really want to go. So lucky for me Erik was home from work (due to his arm injury) and I could leave the kiddos and go. Lindsey decided to go with me. We got in our skirts and headed off around 7:15 after picking Conner up from a primary party. Get to where we thought the reception was and there was another reception going on there (no we didn't go in, but the car decorated outside was for two people we didn't know). Okay know that I have the invitation with me, but we call Erik and say this is the address and we can't find it. As I am reading him the address from the invitation I look at the DATE, September 5. Okay yesterday was September 4! Yay, get it we were a day EARLY! I was so angry, but Lindsey and I had to laugh! BLONDE moment...oh well we wasted some gas, but went shopping at Target (bought a new lamp I needed for my bedroom) and treated ourselves to Bahama Bucks since we didn't get any wedding cake! Oh yeah and got some movies out of Redbox (entertainment for the weekend).
What happens when grease and rain mix?
I woke up to Emergency papers on the counter and Erik laying on the couch with a sling on his arm. I guess he fell at work Thursday night, rain and grease make a slippery combination. He dislocated his shoulder and now that it is back in place he is SUPER sore. Luckily Fry's Pharmacy isn't to far away...grabbed some drugs to help with the pain. Hopefully he can take it easy over this long weekend and be good to go again Tuesday.
I almost went and got paint to paint our bedroom for this weekend, glad I didn't! I would have been doing it alone while he supervised, ugh!

Ward split & lots of changes
Our ward was split and reorganized two Sunday's ago and we are in the Orchard Ranch ward. I am so excited I just found out I get to stay in my calling, Visiting Teaching Coordinator! I am so happy. Lucy Kartchner is the R.S. Pres. and I am so excited to work with her. We are now busy reorganizing visiting teaching so we can hand out the new companionship's for Sunday. I love being busy involved in a good cause. I love VISITING TEACHING!
Visiting teaching is much more than a visit or sharing a thought with a sister. It is how we connect with one another. We share hearts and souls and extend charity, which is "the highest, noblest, strongest kind of love" (Bible Dictionary, "Charity," 632). Visiting teaching brings the love of the Lord to every home and to every sister. It is a sacred trust we have been given.

August "Student of the Month"
Friday, August 28 Carly was recognized as "Student of the Month". She didn't know she was receiving this award until I showed up for the program. I am so proud of her. Here is what her teacher, Mr. Jeffers wrote about her:
This month, our Student of the Month was selected by demonstrating the Character Trait of RESPECT. I am pleased that one such individual has made her presence known by showing respect to everyone she meets, her classmates, her teacher and everyone else at the school. She seldom forgets to say "please," "thank you," is a well used term in Carly's vocabulary along with "may I." It is nice to have a second grade student who models to everyone the concept of RESPECT. Carly knows that if you are respectful to others, they, in turn, show their respect to you. Congratulations, Carly. Keep up the good work.
Carly loves school and is an excellent student. Here she is singing the school song. I love you Carly!
